On the 9th of December, London’s Natural History Museum opened its doors to an exhibition on how natural creatures have inspired the birth of myths, legends and fantastic beasts. Guiding the visitors is Newt Scamander, an expert on magical animals from J. K. Rowling's fantasy series.
The museum is currently closed to the public but many of the contents of the exhibition can be consulted online.
Highlights, stories and virtual games are available through Google Arts & Culture. You can discover many interesting curiosities about 11 animals of the natural and fantastic world, as well as learn more about the work of scientists who deal with animal protection. You can take part in a Puzzle Party or create new creatures using different colours.
You can take a virtual tour through the exhibition halls with 360° Google Streetview.
